Golden Pumpkin Award Winners announced in Pocatello for daunting Halloween displays

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) – For the second year in a row, the Pocatello Arts Council has hosted the "Golden Pumpkin" competition for local homeowners to decorate their front yards and houses for Halloween in the hopes to winning one of the Golden Pumpkins. There are several categories for awards, including the coveted "People's Choice."

The City of Pocatello took to their Facebook page to announce and showcase all of this year's winners. "With so many amazing displays and creative decorations, the competition was fierce, and choosing the winners was no easy task," the post said.

The City went on to thank everyone who participated in the competition by decorating their homes and nominating their neighbors.

The winner of the People's Choice Golden Pumpkin was 1357 Santa Anita Ave, with a front yard display of moving, dancing, and speaking skeletons. The homeowner also made a tunnel of lights and spiderwebs up to the front door, flanked with a graveyard and a giant tarantula.

At 125 Toponce Dr, you can see the Storybook Spectacular Golden Pumpkin winner, complete with a pumpkin archway. The winner for the "Cult Classic Horror" category is the home at 507 Crescent Dr with scary clowns.

The best "Creature Feature" is at 130 Princeton Ave with a line of pumpkins near the front door. In the "Supernatural" Category, 1860 Rainier Dr won for their Haunted Hollow Cemetery. Beyond the front gate is a graveyard filled with spooky skeletons and ghosts.

At 4633 Pahsimeroi, you can find "The Haunt Beyond the Gate" winning house, chosen for its extravagant cemetary setup. From a giant tarantula to the backdrop on the garage and skeletons doing various tasks everywhere, this decorated house is above and beyond.

The Pocatello Arts Council also handed out their one and only Honorable Mention to Liam at 709 N Grant Ave for his creativity, time and effort in decorating his home.
