Stanley scores 24, Boise State defeats New Mexico 89-79

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — O’Mar Stanley scored 24 points as Boise State beat New Mexico 89-79 on Saturday night.

Stanley also added 13 rebounds for the Broncos (21-8, 12-4 Mountain West Conference). Tyson Degenhart shot 8 for 16 (2 for 4 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free throw line to add 23 points. Chibuzo Agbo had 17 points and shot 6 for 11 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free throw line.

The Lobos (21-8, 9-7) were led by JT Toppin, who recorded 21 points, eight rebounds, two steals and three blocks. Jamal Mashburn Jr. added 19 points and four assists for New Mexico. In addition, Donovan Dent finished with 11 points and six assists.

Boise State took the lead with 38 seconds to go in the first half and did not give it up. The score was 35-33 at halftime, with Stanley racking up 11 points. Degenhart scored 15 points in the second half to help lead Boise State to a 10-point victory.
