HILDALE, Utah (AP) — The mayor in the Southern Utah city Hildale has taken the oath of office for her second term. Fox13 reports that Mayor Donia Jessop is the first woman and first former member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to lead the community. She was elected in 2017 with a narrow majority but won her last election handily.  Lt. Governor Deidre Henderson drove down to personally administer to the oath.  She says she has been impressed with the changes in Hildale and Jessop is among a record number of women in Utah who have been elected to public office.
