Part of I-15 closed due to low visibility, I-86, ID-32, ID-33 now open

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - UPDATE: 4:22 a.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports I-86, ID-32, ID-33, and Northbound I-15 (from Idaho Falls to Roberts) are now open.

UPDATE: 9:40 p.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports I-86, ID-32, ID-33 are now open. Northbound I-15 in Idaho Falls remains closed.

UPDATE 4:50 p.m. The Idaho Department of Transportation reports ID-32 is temporarily closed from Ashton to Tetonia due to strong winds and low visibility.

ID-33 is also temporarily closed from Newdale to Tetonia (MP107 to 131) due to strong winds and low visibility caused by winds and low visibility.

Fremont County Emergency Management is asking the public to stay off of the roads. Emergency services and utility crews are very busy.


ORIGINAL: The Idaho Department of Transportation reports Interstate 15 is temporarily closed from Idaho Falls to Roberts.

Due to the high winds and blowing dust, it has caused very low visibility.

ITD reports I-86 is also closed from the Arbon Valley Exit to American Falls due to strong winds and low visibility caused by dust.

Officials say there is also low visibility on I-15 in the Camas and Sage Junction areas.
