Pocatello man charged with burglary for showering, stealing clothes from home

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) - A Pocatello man is in jail for a suspected home burglary in the Highland neighborhood on Wednesday.

Police had multiple calls of suspicious activity and attempted home invasions in the Churchill Downs area near Grace Lutheran School.

One resident came home to find her shower used, dirty clothes left behind and her husband's clothes stolen from the house.

Another resident also reported stolen items from her home.

Dispatch received a call at 8:25 p.m. about a disturbance at the Red Lion Hotel on Pocatello Creek Road. They arrived to find Leroy Otero, 43, wearing the stolen clothes.

Otero admitted to officers that the clothes left behind in a resident's home were his.

Police booked Otero into Bannock County Jail for burglary.

  1. Something I don’t worry about. With two very large protective dogs (Male 145; female 120), I doubt he would have been allowed to take a shower, but blood on my new carpeting would really pee me off. But heck, my dogs like a good snack on occasion.
