BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A Boise woman has been sentenced to up to 30 years in prison for driving under the influence in a crash that killed a 3-year-old girl and left three others injured.

Prosecutors said Anna Mihelich, 54, was under the influence of drugs when she crashed head-on into another vehicle on a Boise city street on July 2, 2019. The crash injured all four people in the other car, and the young girl succumbed to her injuries.

Mihelich was originally charged with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence, but pleaded guilty to two counts as part of a plea deal.

Fourth District Judge Steven Hippler sentenced Mihelich Friday to up to 30 years in prison, saying she will be eligible for parole after serving at least seven years. Mihelich's drivers license was also suspended for 10 years.

  1. “Mihelich’s drivers license was also suspended for 10 years.”
This statement validates the asinine redundance/stupidity of ‘our’ court system: It’s going to be incarcerated for SEVEN years, but we’re going to take away its right to drive whikle it IS? 🙁

  2. Love to read the EXACT verdict; but could be the judge knows the corrections office will most likely parole in 7 years, she would be out with three years she could not drive. Then again, considering this rag and the fact half the time the info is not in full or just wrong; this could be 10 years added to the sentence. Again not sure.

However, my mind, she should serve the complete 30 years, in a cell plastered with all the walls full of pictures of the deceased kids. And in the cell there will be a six foot rope with a really nice hangman’s noose, and a hook installed to the ceiling over the top bunk. just a thought…..

    1. Like your thought, JW. However, in instances such as this, normal, rational, human beings assume that CHRONIC dopers still have some area of humanity left. IF this creature ends up in a ‘cell’ (I’m guessing some sort of lower-security ‘dorm’ arrangement), the wall ‘plastering’ will make little/NO difference to it! ANY ‘regret’ it has ever had is–if actually EXISTENT–most likely revolves soley around what punishment will happen to IT!!! 🙁
