Wanted man arrested after vehicle pursuit, collision

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KIFI) - A Blackfoot Police Department patrol officer attempted to stop an adult man, later identified as 40-year-old Dustin Strange, for a traffic violation near East Alice and N. West Main St. Thursday around 4:30 p.m.

Within 30 seconds after attempting to conduct the traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, Strange fled at a high rate of speed and caused a traffic collision at the intersection of West Judicial and South Ash.

Strange failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into another vehicle and then a building causing significant damage to both the vehicle and the building.

An adult woman was present in the vehicle with Strange, and another adult woman occupied the victim's vehicle that Strange struck.

All involved parties were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and have since been cleared.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered Strange had an active felony parole warrant for his arrest. Strange was charged with felony trafficking a controlled substance, felony eluding, felony destruction of evidence, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and Idaho Department of Corrections - felony warran.

No further information about this case will be released.
