Man arrested for attempting to strangle girlfriend

BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man early Sunday morning after a physical altercation with his girlfriend.

Just before 4 a.m. dispatchers received a call that a female had escaped her residence on Moonstone Dr. and went to the neighbors to call 911 after her boyfriend, 27-year-old Justin Ryan Walker, had assaulted her.

Deputies arrived on scene and detained Walker at his residence. Through investigation, deputies discovered the victim had been in a physical altercation with Walker where he struck her in the face several times and put his arm around her neck preventing her from breathing. The victim was able to fight back and get away from Walker enough to run to a neighbor’s residence to call for help. Walker had apparently ran after the victim and tried to enter the neighbor’s house behind her but was prevented from doing so. The victim had apparent minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention at that time.

Walker was transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he was booked on felony charges of domestic battery and attempted strangulation.
