Idaho Falls man killed in rollover crash on Sunnyside Road

ISP Investigate rollover crash involving pickup

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE: Idaho State Police investigated a single-vehicle, fatality crash, on Sunnyside Road, in Idaho Falls Thursday around 7:11 p.m.

According to ISP, David Strangfeld, 31, of Idaho Falls, was traveling in a 2008 Ford F150 eastbound on Sunnyside Road just east of the Snake River approaching Yellowstone Highway at a high rate of speed. Strangfeld left the road and the vehicle rolled. Strangfeld succumbed to his injuries on scene.

Next of kin has been notified.

ISP reports he was wearing his seatbelt.

The eastbound lanes of travel on Sunnyside Road were completely blocked for approximately one hour and forty minutes. One eastbound lane was still blocked for an additional hour and twenty minutes.

This crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police. Idaho State Police was assisted on scene by Idaho Falls Police Department and Idaho Falls Fire and Ambulance.


ORIGINAL: Idaho State Police are investigating after a pickup truck crash into a fence and rolled onto its top Thursday night.

Emergency crews and Idaho Falls Police responded to Sunnyside Rd. near the Snake River bridge to find a white pickup upside down and entangled in a chain-link fence. The fence had to be cut away by Idaho Falls Firefighters. Authorities confirmed the driver was the only person in the vehicle, but have not released their condition.

The eastbound lanes of Sunnyside Rd. near Snake River Parkway are closed and traffic is being diverted as authorities investigate.
