Mobile home fire on Lakewood Avenue

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Fire Department and Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a structure fire at 9:39 p.m. on Thursday at the 400 block of N Lakewood Avenue.

The reporting party told the emergency communications officer there were flames in the living room and coming out of the windows. 

The IFFD responded with three engines, one ladder truck, two ambulances and a battalion chief. Intermountain Gas and Rocky Mountain Power were dispatched to secure utilities to the home. 

Engine 2 was the first responding unit, arriving only six minutes after being dispatched. Firefighters reported a small single-family mobile home with active fire inside. 

There was one adult man and one adult woman inside the mobile home at the time of the fire, both of which evacuated safely without injury. There were no injuries to first responders. There was one cat inside the home at the time of the fire which has not been located. 

Engine 2 reported having the fire extinguished by approximately 9:54 p.m. Most of the fire damage was contained to the living room, with smoke damage throughout the home. The residents were displaced by the fire but were able to find temporary shelter with family members. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by IFFD’s Fire Prevention and Investigation Division.
