Idaho Falls Rescue Mission plans to revamp its recovery program

Idaho Falls, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Rescue Mission is working on improving its recovery program and needs the community's help.

The Bible-based program is for men who are struggling with addiction and other problems. Tyler Perkins, the mission's executive director, says the program is small but effective.

"We have about a 97-98% success rate," he said. "They experience life transformation. They get back to being sustainable citizens and they break those cycles permanently."

Perkins shared a story about one of his friends who came to the mission when he was in a bad place in his life.

"He was willing to follow rules and work for his own recovery and restoration," Perkins said. "He graduated with honors from our recovery program. After about a year, he circled back and...said, 'I just want to share what God did in my life with other men.'"
