Local nature photos hit Art Museum of Eastern Idaho

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho is showcasing some of the best career photos from Thomas Mangelsen. He is a photographer who resides in Jackson, Wyo.

A good portion of his work is through local scenes in the wilderness. Many photographs in the gallery come from western Wyoming or southern Montana. Everything from mountain lions to bald eagles to bison is included.

That is not to say he doesn't go out of the area. He is one of the few photographers who has gone out of his way to travel to all seven continents. Other photos capture polar bears, birds, giraffes and elephants all over the globe.

Thomas Mangelsen is unique in that he doesn't edit any of his photos. All of the photos taken are in their original form without any photoshopping or change to the lighting at all. Thomas is instead known for his patience with all of his shots. He will take up to two months in one spot just to get the right photo at the right time.

The gallery at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho will showcase Tomas Mangelsen up until March 30.
