The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to a fire involving a shop structure on the 8000 block of South 25th East Friday morning.

Callers told 911 dispatchers around 10:39 a.m. that a shop behind a house on a rural property was on fire. Smoke was visible for some distance and multiple people made calls to the Idaho Falls Bonneville County 911 Emergency Communications Center.

Firefighters responded immediately and, upon arrival, found a working structure fire involving the shop made of metal and wood. Firefighters began putting water on the structure while other firefighters worked to establish a water supply from both a water tender truck and a nearby irrigation ditch.

Firefighters continued to put water on the structure for over an hour while they worked to put out any remaining hotspots.

There were no injuries to civilians or first responders.

Idaho Falls Fire Department responded with three engines, two ambulances, two water tenders, a ladder truck and a battalion chief.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department Prevention and Investigation Division is investigating the cause of the fire. While the total value of damages is not yet known, the shop structure is a complete loss.
