3 vehicle crash north of Wendell

GOODING COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho State Police are currently investigating a three-vehicle collision that occurred Friday at approximately 10:35 a.m., on SH46 at milepost 104, in Gooding County.

A 23-year-old female from Wendell was traveling northbound on state highway 46 in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, behind a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a camper. The Chevrolet was driven by a 49-year-old male from Jerome. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Hyundai attempted to pass the Chevrolet in the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 63-year-old male from Jerome.

The drivers of the Chevrolet and Jeep were wearing seatbelts. The driver of the Hyundai was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the Jeep was transported via air ambulance to a local hospital.

SH46 was blocked for approximately two hours to allow emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.
