High school student awarded with CPR award for saving man’s life

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - A career technical school in Idaho Falls is awarding one of their students for saving a man's life.

Grace Pontzer was completely surprised by the entire event and felt grateful for everything. She received a specialty coin from the school for her efforts.

On Jan. 21, she was at the gym in the evening for her normal exercise routine. She and her friend saw a man fall suddenly. That's when Grace jumped into action by performing CPR and telling her friend to call 911. Soon after the paramedics arrived, the man gained consciousness.

Once her teacher found out, she was floored and gracious for her actions. The teacher said she had never been in that position herself in her entire career.
