Family Crisis Center receives massive donation

REXBURG, IDAHO (KIFI) - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided around 1,500 cases of donations to the Family Crisis Center on Thursday. The cases weighed in around 35,000 to 40,000 pounds of donations.

The donations included canned veggies and fruits, spaghetti, salsa and hot chocolate mixes. They also threw in some essentials besides food like dish and laundry soap.

The Family Crisis Center is extremely grateful for these donations since they ran out of food a month or two back. The last massive shipment of donations came in October followed by a couple of local donations during the late months of 2022. They thought those donations would last a good while until the community became so much in need that they ran out by the start of May.

The Family Crisis Center is always seeking donations and volunteer help. Donations are accepted between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The food needs to be within three years of its expiration date. In order to find out how you can volunteer, you can click here.
