Geotechnical drilling along Salmon River Road corridor

SALMON, Idaho (KIFI) - Crews will begin mobilizing a drill rig on the Salmon River Road (NFSR #030) and Bia Po’i Naokwaide (formerly Sq_ Creek Road) starting Monday for the purposes of conducting geotechnical investigations associated with a fish passage improvement project planned for 2024. 

Drilling on the Salmon River Road at Bia Po’i Naokwaide Road will commence on Oct. 10 and end Oct. 11.  During this time, the road will remain open with a one-lane closure. The Forest expects hours of operation to be between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Drilling on the Bia Po’i Naokwaide Road will begin Oct. 11 and continue through Oct. 12.  The road may closed to thru traffic during this time. It is possible traffic may be able to pass during operations; however, the public should expect delays if drilling is active. The Forest expects hours of operation to be between 7:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.
