Single vehicle crash in Jerome County

JEROME, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 11/22/23: Police say the driver succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.


ORIGINAL: Police are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 4:00 p.m. on US 93 at milepost 58 east of Jerome.

According to Idaho State Police, a 65-year-old Twin Falls man was driving southbound on US 93 in a Kenworth Semi pulling a single trailer. The Kenworth drove off the right shoulder, attempted to drive back onto US 93, over corrected and drove back off the right shoulder. The trailer tipped on its side and detached from the power unit. The power unit came to rest up-right.

The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by air ambulance to a local area hospital.

US 93 was not blocked due to this incident.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
