Risch recognizes White Cross Pharmacy as a North Idaho Gem

Office of Jim Risch

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KIFI) – U.S. Senator Jim Risch, member and former-chairman of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, announced the selection of White Cross Pharmacy in North Idaho as a Local Gem.

This recognition is part of the fourth annual Support Local Gems All Season Long initiative, which is a public awareness campaign Senator Risch created to encourage Idahoans to support the small businesses that make Idaho special.

“White Cross Pharmacy is more than a pharmacy in North Idaho, it is a part of the community helping keep families healthy, providing advice, and giving back,” Risch said. “In its more than 101 year history—with only five owners—the pharmacy has remained steadfast in employing hardworking pharmacists, who go above and beyond to care for their patients. But, White Cross Pharmacy does even more than that because it works to donate funds to assist those who cannot afford medications, and it provides educational opportunities for local students to learn and work. This local gem really stands out as a pillar of good, helping to diligently serve the North Idaho community.”

White Cross Pharmacy will be recognized in the Congressional Record of the U.S. Senate.

Support Local Gems All Season Long is a holiday revival of the statewide Support Local Gems.
