Montpelier woman killed in crash on US 30

BEAR LAKE COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - A 24-year-old Montpelier woman was killed after a fatal crash Sunday on US 30 at milepost 417 in Bear Lake County.

According to Idaho State Police at 7:47 p.m., a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 24-year-old woman, with a juvenile passenger, both from Montpelier, where traveling westbound, and a 2014 Toyota pickup, driven by a 44-year-old man with a 42-year-old woman and two juveniles, all from Montpelier, where traveling eastbound.

Police say the Chevrolet crossed the center line into the eastbound lanes and impacted the Toyota.

A ground ambulance transported the driver of the Chevrolet to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

A ground ambulance transported all other involved occupants to a local hospital. Officials say they were wearing safety restraints.

All lanes were blocked for approximately four hours while responders worked to clear the scene and assist those involved.
