Portneuf Oncologist receives the Tom Beck Award from the Idaho Society of Clinical Oncology

POCATELLO, Idaho — Michael Francisco, MD, medical oncologist, received the Tom Beck Award from the Idaho Society of Clinical Oncology (ISCO) in October. Given in honor of Dr. Beck, this award recognizes one physician and one non-physician healthcare worker who have made significant contributions in the field of oncology. Dr. Francisco was selected for his commitment to excellence in patient care.

ISCO represents Idaho physicians and related healthcare professionals who care for cancer patients. It is a non-profit corporation devoted to the improvement of hematologic and oncologic care of patients. Dr. Francisco has been working with ISCO throughout his career, including the Society’s early years as it was organized. He served as an active member of ISCO’s Board until recently.

“This is a tremendous honor,” said Dr. Francisco. “I have dedicated my career to the field of oncology and recognition from a society that I have been closely involved with is humbling. Patient care is at the center of my purpose and motivation as a physician.”
