3 injured in crash near Swan Valley

SWAN VALLEY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 2:45 p.m. Three people were injured in a crash on US 26 Monday.

According to Idaho State Police, a 2007 Ford Econoline was driving eastbound on US 26 at mile marker 374 at 8:43 a.m., and a 2019 Mazda CX-5 was traveling westbound on US 26 when he driver of the Ford crossed the line and struck the Mazda.

A ground ambulance transported the driver of the Ford, a 44-year-old Idaho Falls man, to a local hospital. His passenger, a 20-year-old Ammon man, was not transported.

An air ambulance transported the driver of the Mazda, a 36-year-old Victor woman, to a local hospital, and a ground ambulance transported her juvenile passenger.

Traffic on US 26 was blocked in both directions for approximately three hours allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.


UPDATE 11:40 a.m. Police say all lanes are open.


ORIGINAL: Police are investigating a crash on US 26 near Rainey Creek.

According to Idaho State Police, the crash is at mile marker 374 west of Swan Valley.

Both lanes are blocked.

Officials say motorists should expect delays.
