Police seek witnesses of US 20 crash near Atomic City

ATOMIC CITY, Idaho (KIFI) - Police are looking for witnesses who saw a two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday at 5:40 a.m. on US 20 at milepost 267.6 near Atomic City.

According to Idaho State Police, a 58-year-old Blackfoot man was driving a 2013 Toyota Corolla eastbound on US20 at 267.6, and a 24-year-old Arco woman was driving a 2010 Nissan Cube westbound on US20 at 267.6. The Nissan Cube crossed the center line and collided with the Toyota.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Air ambulance transported the male driver to a local hospital, and a ground ambulance transported the female driver to a local hospital.

The eastbound lanes of travel were blocked for approximately five hours.

The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
