Skier rescued from avalanche

GRAND TARGHEE (KIFI/KIDK) - Teton County Search and Rescue had its first avalanche burial call-out of the season Thursday afternoon.

Officials said a lone skier was caught in a slide while digging a pit in the Grand Targhee backcountry. 

According to search and rescue, ski patrol handled the incident, and the person survived.

Officials remind you to make sure you stay up to date on weather and conditions by checking in daily with the Bridger-Teton National Forest Avalanche Center.

The current avalanche advisory level is considerable.
