Idaho Falls man killed attempting to cross I-15

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE:-Idaho State Police say Glen Howard, 85, of Idaho Falls, had parked his vehicle on the right shoulder and was attempting to cross both southbound lanes of the Interstate to assist a vehicle that had slid off into the median.

While crossing, he was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup driven by Stephen J. Blaser, 71, of Blackfoot. 

Howard died of his injuries at the scene. 

The southbound lanes were blocked for approximately 2 hours.  


A pedestrian was killed in a crash at 7:52 a.m. Tuesday a mile north of the Sunnyside overpass on Interstate 15.

Idaho State Police say a man was hit by a pickup after he stopped to help someone who slid off the highway.

They have not released his name.

The southbound lanes were shut down while police investigated the accident.

No other injuries were reported.
