2 hospitalized after crash on US 20

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 2:45 p.m. Idaho State Police investigated a crash westbound on US 20 at milepost 342, approximately three miles west of St. Anthony around 9:15 p.m. Thursday.

According to ISP, 65-year-old Steven Widdison of Rexburg was driving westbound on US 20 in a 2008 Peterbilt semi, pulling a single trailer, and 26-year-old Kylan Kauer of Rexburg was driving behind Widdison in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Widdison slowed to make a right turn onto 300 N, and Kauer struck the back of the trailer.

Widdison was wearing a seatbelt. He was transported by ground ambulance to Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg. Kauer was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

The westbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The crash is under investigation by Idaho State Police.


ORIGINAL: Police are on the scene of a crash between a pickup and a semi.

It closed Highway 20 near St. Anthony Thursday. 

Idaho State Police are investigating the crash that happened about 9:30 a.m.

Witnesses report the driver of a black truck hit the back of the semi that was turning on 300 North. 

He was taken by air ambulance to the hospital.  

Fremont County Sheriff's officials and air ambulances were at the scene.
