Bannock County Fair & Rodeo is back in action

DOWNEY, Idaho (KIFI) - One of our local traditions has returned after a brief hiatus in 2020.

The Bannock County Fair & Rodeo is taking place from Aug. 2 - Aug. 7 at the Bannock County Fairgrounds at 156 N 2nd W in Downey.

Due to the pandemic, last year's event had to be canceled.

The event will include horse pulls, numerous vendors and a performance from the country music band Sawyer Brown on Friday at 9:30 p.m.

The rodeo will be held on Thursday and Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. A parade will also be taking place on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

"People are just ready to have a good time, and we're here to give it to them if they want," said Fair Chairman Sheldon Barfuss. "We would like to welcome everybody in Bannock County and in the surrounding areas. Come and join us for a great fair Monday through Saturday."
