3 things to do this weekend – January 20, 2023

KIFI

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here are some events going on in your local neighborhood this weekend:

1. Zoo Idaho is bringing a German and Midwestern tradition to Pocatello. They're hosting a Poke Fest tomorrow from 1 to 4 pm. It's called a Poke Fest because people poke their beers with a hot iron that warms and caramelizes the drink. In addition to the drinks, there will be outdoor fire pits, music, and more. It's $25 to get in. For designated drivers and people under 25, it's only $5.

2. The city of Ammon will hold the Annual Icy Inferno Christmas Tree Bonfire tomorrow night. The past month the community has dropped off their live Christmas trees, making a very large pile that will be set ablaze by the Ammon Fire Department. There will also be a ten minute firework show. Icy Inferno begins at 6pm at McCowin Park.

3. The Driggs Community Block Party and Snowscapes Voting Day is tomorrow. The Eleventh Annual 'Driggs Snowscapes' Competition features work from nine teams, including some local middle school and high school students. They've been working all week to turn these snow cubes, that are packed with 30 tons of snow, into works of art. The finished products will be on display from 9 am to 4 pm.
