COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — In a story published June 25, 2023, about gas tax alternatives, The Associated Press erroneously reported a comment by the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Douglas Shinkle. Shinkle said making road usage charging mandatory is the next logical step, not that states need to make them mandatory.
