Following the local church group stranded in Israel

POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - As we continue to follow the story of a church group in Pocatello stranded in Israel, Linda Larsen talked to several members of the group.

As of Thursday evening, two members of group who broke away have made it to Dubai and are working their way back to Idaho.

This progress comes after their previous efforts to find flights home were met with dead ends.

Linda was able to speak with the woman who coordinated this trip to Israel and learn what she is doing to help from home.

Abbie Pina was unable to go on the tour at the last minute because she got COVID-19 the day before they left, but she says she has been talking to some of them, and they are terrified and they need our help.

A GoFundMe has been set up to try and raise funds to help pay for airfare to help the group return home safely.

We talked to Congressman Mike Crapo's office, and they said they will work to help get anyone from Idaho out of Israel.

If you are aware of a family member or friend that needs assistance getting out Israel, use the links below.

We will update the story as it develops.
