Filer man killed after hitting house on Idaho highway

HOWE, Idaho (KIFI) - A Filer man is dead after hitting a house on an Idaho highway.

Idaho State Police says it happened Monday afternoon on Highway 33 north of Howe.

Jimmy Combs was driving west in a pickup and pulling a trailer hauling an ATV.

A semi-truck hauling a single-wide house was driving east.

Combs failed to make a curve, drove into the eastbound lane and hit a corner of the house. The pickup went off the road.

The ATV came off the trailer and hit a pilot car helping escort the semi-truck down the road.

Combs was not wearing his seat belt and died from his injuries.

The driver of the semi-truck and the driver of the pilot car were not injured.

The crash blocked the highway for nearly six hours as ISP investigated and the crash was cleaned up.
