3 things to know this morning – May 5, 2023

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your "Cinco de Mayo" Friday.

1. Court resumed in the Daybell trial yesterday with the testimony of Ian Pawlowski. He claims Lori said "she was able to cast Satan out by folding him up into the shape of a taco and locking him in a safe in Antarctica,” Police in Hawaii revealed what they found when they searched the Daybell's car. They found a credit card filled out in Tylee Ryan’s name, JJ and Tylee’s Social Security cards, and roughly 14 copies of Charles Vallow’s death certificate.

2. The Eastern Idaho Water Rights Coalition discussed a curtailment notice for groundwater use. It comes as the result of a call from surface water users in the Twin Falls area. It alleges that pumping water from the Aquifer is reducing the water flows to the snake river and springs in their area.

3.  Be extra careful if you are going to start a controlled burn. Even though snow was on the ground recently, the grass is dry and a fire can spread very quickly.
