3 things to know this morning – January 4, 2024

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Thursday.

1. Crews are going over the damages after a fire broke out behind the Ririe Fire Station's main building. It happened at 249 West Ririe Highway yesterday evening. The building did not house their engine, rescue trucks, or gear.

2.  Idaho's Capitol building is back to work after an emergency evacuation yesterday morning. It was among 23 other State Capitol buildings across the nation that received a mass email threat. No states have reported finding any threatening items inside their buildings. The FBI is investigating the threats.

3. Jeremy Best is pleading not guilty to 3 counts of first degree murder for the deaths of his wife, unborn son, and 10-month-old son. Best's wife, Kali, was found shot dead outside their home in Victor on November 30th. Best was found 2 days later in a remote area of Bonneville County near the body of his son, Zeke. His next hearing is scheduled for March 14.
