Downed power line blocks part of East 2000 North in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) — A portion of East 2000 North in Rexburg has been temporarily blocked off due to a downed power line, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.

Utility personnel from Rocky Mountain Power are currently at the scene, near the 3400 block of East 2000 North. According to the sheriff’s office, Rocky Mountain Power estimates the roadway will remain closed for approximately 4 hours while crews work to safely clear the area.

Deputies are actively directing traffic and urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes until repairs are complete.
