Idaho Falls resident hospitalized after firefighters pull them from burning home

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) — An Idaho Falls resident is recovering after firefighters rescued them from a manufactured home fire on West Elswood Drive Sunday morning.

The Idaho Falls Fire Department responded to the scene around 10 a.m. after callers reported seeing black smoke and flames coming from the home.

Firefighters began aggressively attacking the fire while a crew entered the building, found the resident inside, and carried them to safety. Crews began emergency medical care at the scene before the resident was taken to the hospital.

Unfortunately, firefighters also found a dog inside the home, but it did not survive the fire.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire, but the home and all contents inside were declared a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
