Teton County GIS platform transition update

Teton County

JACKSON, Wyo. (KIFI) – Teton County has received many questions regarding the change from the County’s current Geographic Information System (GIS) to a new platform and the impacts it will have on the public facing GIS website.

Due to potential litigation regarding information contained within the GIS, portions of the contract to provide data management and support for our GIS were terminated by the contractor.

As certain management and support services will cease at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, Teton County will be unable to maintain the public GIS at this time.

Although the county is not required to provide a public GIS, officials are dedicated to finding a suitable replacement. The county has identified a potential new platform and support specialists; however, officials are unable to provide a timeline for restoration of the public interface at this time. The county will provide updates on the progress of the new platform.

While services are offline, those needing to access records can do so by visiting the Clerk’s Office, located in the basement of the Teton County Administration Building at 200 S. Willow Street in Jackson. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Permit records are also available on the County’s Planning and Building SmartGov portal HERE. General questions can be sent to gissupport@tetoncountywy.gov. The County appreciates the public’s patience during this transition.
