Idaho Falls City Council candidates talk about the issues

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Idaho Falls voters will be choosing their city council members on Nov. 7.

Three seats are up for re-election, and two of those are contested. Kirk Larsen and Barbara Miller are competing for Seat 3. Incumbent John Radford is challenged by newcomer Dawna Howard for Seat 5.

Seat 1, currently held by Michelle Ziel-Dingman, is unopposed.

Assistant News Director Stephanie Lucas spoke with the candidates for Seats 3 and 5. Each candidate was asked the same questions:

  • What are some of the skills you could bring to the table on City Council?
  • Housing costs are skyrocketing. Should the city get involved? If so, how?
  • How would you manage growth in Idaho Falls?
  • What would you do, if anything, about property taxes?
  • Do you think the City needs to make spending cuts? If so, where?
