Knights Extend Unbeaten Streak with Win over Skyline

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Hillcrest held off Skyline 16-13 in high school baseball Thursday to extend its unbeaten streak to 12 games. The Knights have won 11 of their last 12 with the other being a tie.

Hillcrest scored 10 runs in the 5th to blow the game open. The Knights led 13-4 after five innings. The Grizzlies responded with a big 6th inning, scoring 8 runs and cutting the lead down to a run.

That was followed up with 3 big insurance runs in the top of the 7th before the Knights held on the get the win.

Cole Croft led the Hillcrest offense going 4-5 from the plate, including 2 triples. The junior had a team high 4 RBI and 4 runs. Croft was also credited with the save from the mound. Henry Smith got the win for the Knights.

Senior Liam Lynch powered the Grizzlies offense with 3 hits and 4 RBI. He also stole 2 bases. John Giannini was the pitcher of record for Skyline.

Next up for the Grizz is a trip to Canyon Ridge for a double header on Tuesday, April 7. Hillcrest is back on field Monday, April 6 to play two on the road at Thunder Ridge.
