Former Georgia Tech football coach Bill Fulcher dies at 88

KIFI

ATLANTA (AP) — Former Georgia Tech coach Bill Fulcher has died at the age of 88. The school says he died Friday at home in his native Augusta, Georgia. Fulcher coached Georgia Tech’s football team for two seasons in what remains the shortest tenure in the school’s modern era. He left in 1973 after compiling a 12-10-1 mark, saying coaching was no longer enjoyable, and went into commercial real estate. Fulcher played linebacker at Georgia Tech in the 1950s when the school was a national powerhouse. He went on to a three-year career in the NFL with Washington before going into coaching.
