_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A large storm system will move into the Northeast today.
Periods of rain are expected in the mid-Atlantic with
showers extending into the Carolinas, Georgia and northern
Florida. Slightly warmer air pushing north in the Northeast
can lead to icy conditions across Pennsylvania, southern New
York and far southern New England. On the colder side of the
storm, snow showers will linger across the Upper Midwest
while snow spreads into New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.
In the High Plains and into the southern Plains, high
pressure will promote largely dry conditions. A storm system
meandering near the West Coast is forecast to produce rain
in Central California with showers extending north into the
Pacific Northwest. Rain will transition into snow across the
interior Northwest and into northern Nevada.
