The Nation’s Weather for Wednesday, February 24, 2021

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

The northern third of the United States will remain in the

crosshairs for wintry precipitation as another quick-moving

storm jogs from the Great Lakes to the Northeast tomorrow.

This storm will spread snow showers across much of the two

regions, but snowfall will not be nearly as intense as the

potent storms of earlier this month. Dry conditions will

remain in place across much of the southern tier of the U.S.

as two robust areas of high pressure maintain their grip.

Snow showers will sweep across portions of the northern and

central Rockies as a weak storm begins to take shape over

the area. Gusty winds will kick up for portions of the

Southwest and may lead to locally elevated fire risks for

the region.
