Pleasant weekend ahead, but fire danger rises Tuesday with strong winds

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- It will be a pleasant weekend if you have outdoor plans. Dry and breezy with highs in the upper 70's and low 80's for Sunday. The wind and temperatures will go up a notch by Tuesday setting up critical conditions for an increased fire danger.

Breezy at times for the rest of Saturday night into Sunday morning. Winds from the north 8 to 13 mph with gusts near 30 mph. Mostly clear with overnight low. around 45.

Sunday will remain sunny and dry with the high around 76. More breezy conditions at 8 to 11 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. The low for Sunday night will be 45 under mostly clear skies.

A little warmer on Monday with a high near 82 and sunny. Calmer winds in single digit speeds in the afternoon. Partly cloudy with the overnight low around 53.

The heat really picks up on Tuesday with highs into the 90's under sunny skies. It will be bolstered by strong southwest winds with gusts 35 to 45 mph across most of the region. A wind advisory is possible. Combined with the dry conditions, the fire danger will be very high across much of the South Hills, eastern Magic Valley, and Snake River Plain.

The wind should let up on Wednesday, but it will remain warm and dry for the rest of the week.
