Late rain chances Saturday night gives way to sunny, warm Father’s Day

KIFI

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- A Red Flag Warning will remain in effect for much of the area until 9pm Saturday night. A mix of wet and dry scattered thunderstorms will accompany gusty winds, leading to the fire danger. Some rain chances will roll in late Saturday night, but will head up quickly for Father's Day and beyond.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely before midnight with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Winds will blow at 18 to 23 mph with gusts as high as 34 mph. The overnight low will be around 48.

The rain should be mostly gone for Father's Day. Some lingering shower chances may stay in the Island Park area. Mostly sunny on Sunday with the high near 80. Breezy conditions are expected with winds around 6 to 11 mph and gusts possibly reaching 21 mph. The low will be near 50 under mostly clear skies. The winds will persist into Sunday night with similar speeds seen during the day.

The remainder of the week will feel very much like summer with it officially starting on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday will see highs in the low to mid 80s. The highs will back near 90 by Wednesday and stay there for the rest of the week. The overnight lows will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.
