Warm and dry Fourth of July weekend with thunderstorm potential ahead

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- Warm, clear, and calm for the rest of the 4th of July Saturday night. Perfect night for fireworks. Some clouds start to roll in bringing some thunderstorm potential for Sunday and Monday. Very warm and dry conditions expected for the rest of the week.

A mostly clear night for Saturday with light and variable wind. The low will be near 54.

Sunny skies to start Sunday with clouds rolling in during the day. Warm with a high near 93. Breezes and shower chances pick up in the afternoon. Winds at 5 to 10 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of showers is at 20 percent, mostly between 3pm and 4pm. Some areas, such as the central mountains will see much strong shower chances. Sunday's low will be near 57 under mostly cloudy skies.

Much of the same for Monday. Partly sunny early before clouds fill up the skies for afternoon shower and thunderstorm chances. The high will be around 90. Breezy at 5 to 13 mph and gusts up to 22 mph. Shower chances at 20 percent. The overnight low near 58.

Sunny and dry conditions should take over the rest of the week with the highs roaming around the upper 80s and low 90s.
