Hottest temps this year

High pressure is on top of us and we're probably going to see the hottest temperatures of the year today.  Dry conditions and winds from a trough will make for a true summer heat wave.  Wind from the SW 20-30 possible with a slight chance of showers for Salmon.  Pocatello will see temperatures of 95-99 degrees and Idaho Falls will be 91-95 degrees.  Jackson in the mid 80's and a long dry stretch for the rest of the 8 day forecast.  Somewhat cooler flow edges in for the end of the week, with highs falling to the mid 80's. Normal highs this time of year, are in the 84 degree range.  Lows will be the upper 50's tonight and lower 50's headed to mid July.

Slightly cooler into the week, but this weekend shows the heat returning in a major way. Our highs approach the century mark, for the hot pocket region and the bottom of the banana belt from Pocatello to Burley. This as we get into Sunday and Monday, we'll track the chances of that happening, but it will definitely oppressively hot and a risk for everyone outdoors.
