“Sold a Story” literacy event to be streamed statewide

BOISE, Idaho (KIFI) – Educational stakeholders will be now be able to attend the upcoming “Sold a Story” literacy event virtually thanks to a livestream from Idaho Public Television.

Those interested in joining the livestream can do so here. The event will take place on Oct. 12 from 8:30 .m. to 11:00 a.m. Attendance, both in-person and virtual, is free of charge.

“Sold a Story” will bring together national and local literacy experts to explore the changing landscape of the science of reading. Program host and award-winning education reporter Emily Hanford will present her latest series, “Sold a Story: How Teaching Kids Reading Went So Wrong,” along with presentations from frontline Idaho educators, Governor Brad Little and Superintendent of Public Instruction Debbie Critchfield.

“This event is poised to bring together some of the top experts in the science of reading,” Critchfield said. “I’d like to thank Idaho Public Television for helping amplify this very important message to educational communities statewide.”
