An area of low pressure is working out of the northwest for Wednesday and Thursday.

Overnight lows around 42°. South winds at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Rain for Wednesday, with highs in the mid 40’s. South southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Rain and snow for Thursday, with colder temps in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s for highs. A high near 41°, with gusty winds from the southwest at 15 to 25 mph, precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected for the Snake River Plain.

  • WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches
    in the lower elevations like Bone, Soda Springs, Wayan, and
    Grace. 6 to 15 inches on ridge tops and elevations above passes
    in the Bear River Range and the Big Holes. Winds gusting as
    high as 35 mph.
  • WHERE…The Bear River Range, Blackfoot Mountains, Caribou Range
    and the Big Hole Mountains
  • WHEN…From midnight Wednesday night to 3 PM MDT Thursday.

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM WEDNESDAY TO 3 PM MDT THURSDAY…

  • WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12
    inches above 6000 feet and 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet. Winds
    gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • WHERE…Centennial Mountains, Island Park, Kilgore, Targhee
    Pass, Raynolds Pass, and Ashton Hill.
  • WHEN…From 6 AM Wednesday to 3 PM MDT Thursday.

6 PM MDT THURSDAY…

  • WHAT…Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 10
    inches for elevations above 7000 feet and 10 to 20 inches for
    elevations above 8000 feet. Isolated areas with higher amounts
    are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
  • WHERE…Yellowstone National Park, Absaroka Mountains and
    Teton and Gros Ventre Mountains.
  • WHEN…From 6 AM Wednesday to 6 PM MDT Thursday.
