POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - The Portneuf District Library will host the 6th Annual Trunk or Treat for children and adults with special needs and their families on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 3-5 p.m at the library.

Individuals with severe food allergies or other dietary restrictions are also encouraged to attend. Those planning on attending can arrive any time between 3 and 5 pm and enjoy candy alternatives, treats, special guests, games and other activities.

Many children with special needs struggle with traditional Halloween events because of the crowds, the uncertainty of their surroundings, or other restrictions. This event gives them a safe, non-threatening environment in which to enjoy Halloween.

The event is free, but tickets are required for each family. Tickets are available in advance and on the day of the event at the Portneuf Library, various elementary schools and therapy agencies. For more information, visit the library's Facebook page, or call Amanda at 208-237-2192.

The Portneuf Library is located at 5210 Stuart Avenue in Chubbuck.
