Methamphetamine trafficker sentenced to federal prison

BOISE, Idaho (KIFI) – A 50-year-old Boise man was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge David C. Nye to 78 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release for distribution of methamphetamine, U.S. Attorney Josh Hurwit announced.

According to court records, in October 2021, in Boise, Brendan Manzon sold a quarter-pound of methamphetamine to another person in exchange for $1,000.  Manzon has an extensive criminal history, including convictions for aggravated battery, trafficking in methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.  Manzon pleaded guilty to the charge on September 15, 2022.

U.S. Attorney Hurwit commended the work of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Idaho State Police, the Boise Police Department, and the Nampa Police Department, which led to the charges.  Assistant U.S. Attorney David Morse, who was the HIDTA SAUSA at the time of charging, prosecuted the case.
