3 things to know this morning – November 20, 2023

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - Here's what you should know to start your Monday.

1. A rare election victory by a single vote has a school board member asking for a recount. Idaho Falls School District 91 Trustee incumbent Elizabeth Cogliatti was defeated in the November 7th election by Shay Ricks 358 to 359. The tentative date for the recount is November 27th.

2. The Bureau of Land Management is now offering Christmas tree permits for $10 from now until Christmas Eve. The permits allow one tree per family from BLM managed public lands in southeastern Idaho. A valid permit is required before cutting or removing trees.

3. Hydrologists are already optimistic about what is to come for the 2024 irrigation year. Right now, every reservoir except for American Falls, still remains above 50% of their full capacity. This comes even though less snowpack and runoff are expected for this coming winter.
